DAPS Global has been empowering junior healthcare professionals and students to improve care for the last six years now. DAPS Global is one of a few organisations that have been engaging junior healthcare professionals to undertake Quality Improvement and momentum has been building steadily.

What has become clear over the years is that some truly fantastic and innovative work comes out of these projects and often, they are done in individuals’ spare time without much recognition of that fact. Part of the culture of the Health Service should be to value individuals who have taken the time to improve patient care. To that end, we setup the DAPS Global Awards in 2014 in the following categories:

2. Best technological intervention in a Quality Improvement Project
3. Most sustainable intervention in a Quality Improvement Project
4. Best collaborative Quality Improvement Project
5. Best patient-centred Quality Improvement Project
6. Best Primary Care Quality Improvement Project
7. Best Quality Improvement Project in Surgery
8. Best Quality Improvement Project in Mental Health
9. DAPS Relay Award
